Developing Young Leaders
- Comprehensive training and professional development for high school youth
- Educating peers about healthy relationships
- Youth empowerment
Youth Educators will be trained to present on the topics of dating violence and healthy relationships. They will team up to present to a variety of communities such as students, parent groups, faith-based organizations, at conferences, etc. Youth Educators also have the opportunity to work on school-based projects/campaigns around the topic of healthy relationships and teen dating violence. Youth Educators are integrated into the Project PAVE team and central to our mission. To help promote a youth-led approach to this program, there are two tiers of involvement; paid leaders and volunteers. These tiers are meant not as a way to impose a hierarchy but to encourage that youth make this program their own.

Yeidi Cruz
“I’m especially proud of Yeidi. She has really taken on a leadership role within the YCEP cohort. She’s shown initiative in helping to plan YCEP monthly meetings, advocated for topics she believes PAVE should be further involved in, and has successfully engaged her peers to be better advocates for healthy relationships. I’m very excited to see what her energy, knowledge and power bring to her future as she continues to empower youth to end the cycle of relationship violence.”
